  7.     Repeating a favorite threat, Marlon Brando announced last
  8. week that he was quitting films forever. After an eight-year
  9. hiatus, the gargantuan actor says he has burned out with
  10. back-to-back movies: A Dry White Season, in which he plays an
  11. antiapartheid South African barrister, and The Freshman, a
  12. Godfather with a comic twist. Brando won a standing ovation from
  13. colleagues while filming the former, but pronounces the latter
  14. a mess. Said he to the Toronto Globe and Mail: "I wish I hadn't
  15. finished with a stinker."
